VBS - Where it all began!

 

Every summer we run a full scale VBS program for ages four through fourteen at our facilities in Thermal (we run it inside where it is much cooler than the outside temperatures!).  This includes a worship time with lots of passion and getting the kids engaged, bible lessons, memorizing scripture, crafts, games and snacks.  It’s a fun-filled week where we invite and transport kids from the surrounding areas of Mecca, Oasis, Thermal and Coachella.  Every year the kids are challenged to consider the truth of God’s Word, hear the Gospel message clearly and at their level, and are given opportunity to respond by opening their hearts and lives to Jesus Christ. 

 

VBS gives us an opportunity to connect with kids for the first time and then plug them into our on-going discipleship programs throughout the rest of the year.

 

This year we traveled through ROAR where the kids learned that God is good even when life is sad, changes, is scary, unfair and even when life is good.   We had a great turnout and saw more kids come each day of the week!  This is also a week where we depend upon the gracious willingness of many volunteers who come from the valley and outside the valley to pour into the lives of these kids.  Many of our leader guides are our own older Tesoro kids and/or kids who have gone through the program.  We are so grateful for all those who come and give financial and hands on support for this week.
